It's amazing how time goes by. The segment "El Abogado a Tu Lado" today celebrates two years on the air on NY1 Noticias.
Since its launch on October 21, 2014, in every segment we produce we have been dedicated to informing you about the most important and relevant news about immigration and how changes in the laws would affect immigrants.
We have covered topics such as DAPA and the expansion of DACA, explaining the requirements and implications of President Obama's executive action, the judicial blocks to the program and the legal maneuvers to allow its implementation.
We alert our followers about openings in the re-registration period and requirements for the Temporary Protected Status or TPS program, H1-B visas and the visa lottery.
In addition to providing advice, we have answered hundreds of questions of all kinds, including how to obtain permanent residency through family and work petitions, the process of applying for a pardon for living in the United States illegally, the circumstances under which an immigrant can avoid deportation, and the eligibility criteria for obtaining U.S. citizenship through naturalization.
We also warn about fraud and scammers lurking in our communities. For me, it is very important to provide this information to prevent immigrants from falling victim to unscrupulous people who offer quick and easy solutions to serious and difficult immigration problems, and often end up hurting people who need help.
