USCIS reduces hours of telephone assistance

Only 3 months after extended hours free telephone assistance service to include Saturdays, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it will eliminate the service.

The agency will also cut two hours per day of telephone assistance to the public Monday through Friday.

The elimination of Saturday hours is immediate. Effective April 1, the new National Customer Service Center (NCSC) hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm local time.

It is unfortunate that the USCIS is reducing service hours and has eliminated service on Saturdays. Many people work during the week and Saturday is the only day they can take time to make calls and inquiries regarding their cases.

The national toll-free customer service number is 1-800-375-5283.
