USCIS simplifies immigrant fee payment process

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has simplified the process of paying the immigrant fee in its electronic system.

The amendment reduces the amount of information an immigrant must provide to USCIS.

In addition, the system now allows others to pay the immigrant fee. For example, a family member, friend, employer, attorney or accredited representative can pay the fee, as long as they have the immigrant's alien number (A-Number) and U.S. Department of State (DOS) case identification number.

Immigrants who immigrate to the United States as lawful permanent residents must pay the immigrant fee to the USCIS. The USCIS uses this money to process, produce and deliver Green Cards.
