United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced which has returned all H-1B petitions that were not randomly selected for fiscal year 2019.
The H-1B visa is in high demand, although it has suffered a slight decrease compared to the last two years.
For FY 2019, USCIS received 190,098 applications from H-1B visa applicants. For fiscal year 2018, it received 199,000. But in the previous two years, they exceeded 230,000.
The number of applications received is above the statutory maximum of 65,000. The government is also extending an additional 20,000 H1-B visas to skilled workers who have master's degrees earned in the United States, for a total of 85,000.
