USCIS received more than 190,000 applications for H-1B visas

The demand for H1-B visas is so great, that the federal government received 190,098 applications.

Last week I reported to you that the available H-1B visas for fiscal year 2019 were sold out.

Today, April 12, 2018, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released how many applications they received.

Yesterday, USCIS also conducted a lottery to select who will receive visas.

Unsuccessful applications will be rejected and returned to the petitioner along with the fees charged.

If USCIS finds that someone violated the processing instructions and submitted two or more petitions to increase their chances, they will not refund the processing fees for the petitions, even if they were not selected for an H-1B visa.
