During a preliminary hearing this morning, attorneys for the City of Los Angeles and Gloria Saucedo and Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional, Inc. of Panorama City, California briefed the judge on the status of the case and set another hearing to mark the start of the trial.
That hearing will be held on August 4 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Gloria Saucedo, director of Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional, and her associates Maria Chavez and Carmen Onchi face criminal charges for practicing law without a license.
The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer Affairs and the City Attorney's Office are still investigating dozens of complaints received and are evaluating the possibility of modifying the criminal complaint, adding more cases that reflect additional violations.
