Surplus of H-1B visas

In the past, the demand for H-1B professional visas was greater than the number available. Unlike previous years, in 2010, these visas did not disappear quickly, providing greater opportunities for applicants. Currently, there are many H-1B visas available. Last Friday, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services reported that it has received only 19,100 H-1B petitions out of the 85,000 that are available annually. That means there are more than 65,000 visas still available for those who are eligible. This category includes persons with specialized professions and who have a college degree.
