Senate Committee to discuss immigration reform

This past Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives held the first hearing to begin the dialogue on what immigration reform must include in order to be effective.

Now, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced that it will meet next Wednesday, February 13 at 9:30 am, for the same purpose.

This will be the first Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to address the issue of comprehensive immigration reform, and will feature the presence and testimony of the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The hearing will consist of two panels where immigration experts and pro-reform business people will testify. Among those testifying: Janet Murguía, President of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR).

I will keep you posted on how the hearings and discussions progress as they are held.
