Trial continues against Gloria Saucedo and Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional

A judge today denied a motion by the defense attorney of activist Gloria Dora Saucedo to dismiss the case against her, and ruled that the trial must go forward.

Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional, Inc. in Panorama City, California, Gloria Saucedo, director of Hermandad Mexicana Transnacional, Inc. and two of her associates, Maria Prudencio Chavez and Carmen Onchi, face criminal charges for practicing law without a license and violating the Immigration Advisors Act.

Saucedo pleaded not guilty to the charges.

During the hearing this morning in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the judge set June 14 for the preliminary hearing for the trial. That day will determine the date for the trial to begin.
