Legislator to seek immigration relief for undocumented immigrants in California

President Obama's executive actions will only provide immigration relief to 5 million undocumented immigrants, but will leave out another 6 million.

Pro-immigrant activists insist they should give immigration relief to all.

After congratulating President Obama for his actions, State Senator Kevin de León is reportedly exploring ways for California to offer immigration relief to undocumented immigrants who were left out of Obama's plan.

But the problem with this idea is that only the federal government can create immigration laws. The states do not have that authority.
