Second Random Selection Completed Among Previously Submitted Registrations for Fiscal Year 2025 H-1B Visas

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has completed a second random selection of previously submitted entries for FY 2025 H-1B visas. The selection seeks to reach the necessary numerical allocations for single beneficiaries. Selected petitioners will be notified and may file their H-1B petitions. A second selection for the advanced degree waiver was not conducted, as sufficient petitions were received to meet the allocation. Petitions must be filed within 90 days and include the new fees and updated form.

If convicted, they face sentences of up to 20 years in prison and confiscation of the exported equipment.

ERO Boston Arrests Brazilian Fugitive Wanted for Rape

Boston Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) arrested a Brazilian fugitive wanted for an October 2023 rape conviction. The individual, 55, was arrested near his residence in Fall River. He entered the U.S. legally in April 2023, but violated the terms of his admission. He will now be turned over to Brazilian authorities to serve a sentence of 10 years and six months in prison.

ERO Boston Arrests Guatemalan Citizen Convicted of Child Endangerment and Drug Offenses

ERO Boston arrested Edilzar Morales-Barillas, a 35-year-old Guatemalan national convicted of child endangerment and drug distribution. Lina Elizabeth Chilel Baíl, a Guatemalan wanted for child abuse, was deported from the U.S. to Guatemala on July 31. After being convicted of assaulting a family member, she was turned over to Guatemalan authorities upon arrival at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City.

ERO Salt Lake City Arrests and Removes South Korean Citizen Wanted for Embezzlement

Intae Yang, a South Korean national wanted for embezzlement, was arrested by ERO Salt Lake City on May 6 and removed to South Korea on July 31. Yang entered the U.S. through Los Angeles and did not leave under the terms of his visa. He was transferred to the Southern Nevada Detention Center prior to his deportation, where he was turned over to South Korean authorities without incident.

ERO Philadelphia Removes Honduran Citizen Wanted for Homicide in his Country

ERO Philadelphia removed Denilson Orlinten Avila Gutierrez, a Honduran national wanted for murder, to Honduras on July 29. Avila entered the U.S. without inspection and was arrested in Amityville, N.Y., on May 8, 2024. He was transferred to the Moshannon Valley Processing Center in Pennsylvania and an immigration judge ordered his removal on June 24.

ICE removed Fredy Funes-Gomez, a 45-year-old Honduran national wanted in Honduras for murder. He was deported from Miami and turned over to Honduran authorities upon arrival at Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula. Funes-Gomez had a final order of removal from the U.S. and was arrested in collaboration with the Honduran Fugitive Enforcement Security Alliance.

Maria Idalia Aguilera-De Menjivar, a 53-year-old Salvadoran fugitive, was deported from Houston to El Salvador on July 26.
