Immigration court closes in Lancaster, California

The Lancaster Immigration Court, located in the Mira Loma Center in California, will close its doors on Wednesday, October 31, 2012.

The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) today announced the closure, which is due to the expiration of the lease agreement between the federal government and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which manages the Mira Loma Center.

All pending cases of persons currently in custody will be transferred to the Los Angeles Immigration Court, from where hearings will be conducted via video conference.

Respondents and their attorneys will be notified when their hearings will be rescheduled. Any cases or documentation that were to be filed in the Lancaster Immigration Court must now be sent to the Los Angeles Immigration Court at the following address:
