The El Centro Immigration Court, located at 1115 North Imperial Avenue in El Centro, California, will close and cease operations effective September 30, 2014.
The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) announced today the closing of the El Centro Immigration Court. The closure of the El Centro Immigration Court is due to the Department of Homeland Security's decision to close the facility as a place to detain individuals while their immigration proceedings are underway.
EOIR will send a new Notice of Hearing to anyone who previously received a Notice of Hearing to attend the El Centro Immigration Court informing them that the new hearing location will be the Imperial Immigration Court.
All cases that used to be filed in the El Centro Immigration Court must now be filed in the Imperial Immigration Court.
