A lawyer must always look out for the interests of his clients, representing them in the best possible way. They must act in an ethical and professional manner. If a lawyer does not return your calls, does not move your case forward and you suspect something is wrong, or asks you for exorbitant amounts of money without explaining the costs in detail, it may be grounds to file a complaint with the Bar Association.
I recently wrote about an attorney in the San Francisco area who defrauded clients for years and continued to practice law, even though he was not licensed to do so. This harmed hundreds of immigrants, whose cases are now in a precarious situation.
In the video I explain some of the rights of clients and how they can report lawyers whose professional conduct is questionable.
