Dr. Nelson A. Castillo launches immigration book today at LéaLA Book Fair

Today Friday, May 17 at 2:00 pm I will be presenting my book La Tarjeta Verde: Cómo Obtener la Residencia Permanente en los Estados Unidos (Green Card: How to Obtain Permanent Residence in the United States) during the LéaLA Book Fair at the Los Angeles Convention Center in the Romulo Gallegos Hall.

My book is a guide that explains the complex concepts and processes of current immigration law in a simple manner. In the book I detail the avenues through which a person can obtain permanent residency, what the requirements are, the obstacles and the costs, in order to help immigrants understand their options.

I invite you to participate in the presentation of the book, where I will answer some questions about these processes.

Originally from El Salvador, I am also an immigrant. I came to this country when I was 11 years old and have experienced many of the problems that millions of immigrants experience - separation and then family reunification, discrimination and language problems, until I overcame all of those barriers. That is why I have devoted much of my professional career as an attorney to defending the rights of immigrants, and I firmly believe in the power of information and education to improve their chances of obtaining legal status in the United States.

The book is now for sale online at Amazon.com, by clicking here. It will also be available at the LéaLA book fair, where I will be signing autographs and talking to followers of my blog, Inmigración Hoy. I hope to see you there.
