DHS will not conduct operations or detentions in areas affected by Tropical Storm Barry

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced that it will not conduct operations, arrests, or other immigration enforcement-related duties in areas affected by Tropical Storm Barry, except in the event of a serious threat to public safety.

DHS stated that as in other emergency situations, they will devote their resources to provide assistance in relief operations and give the necessary aid to people affected by the tropical storm in the Gulf Coast, where the states of Louisiana and Texas are under states of emergency.
