Due to the impact of Hurricane Dorian, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will not be conducting operations, arrests, or other immigration enforcement-related duties in areas of the East Coast affected by the storm.

In the brief announcement in this regard, DHS assured that its top priority at this time is public safety. Therefore, it will not undertake immigration enforcement initiatives during storm evacuations, except in cases where serious danger exists.
