Last Saturday was the last day to register for the visa lottery for fiscal year 2014. The registration period for Diversity Visas was held this year from October 2 to November 3, 2012.
Lottery winners will only find out if they have won on May 1, 2013. Notification will only be made on the website. Notifications will no longer be sent by mail. It will be your responsibility to check if you have been selected. You will need to log in to the website with the confirmation number you received when you completed the online visa lottery application.
If you have been selected, you have a limited period of time to complete the corresponding procedures. If you miss the deadline, you lose your visa eligibility. Be alert to fraudulent notifications. If you receive an e-mail saying that you have won and asking for money, it is most likely a scam. Report it to the authorities.
