Visa Bulletin October 2015

The Department of State made changes to the October 2015 Visa Bulletin that will cause delays in processing Mexican family-based petitions in two categories.

The Bulletin, updated on September 25, replaces the October 2015 Visa Bulletin that was originally published on September 9, 2015.

Unfortunately, an adjustment was made to the filing dates that will affect Mexicans under the F-1 (unmarried children over 21 years of age of U.S. citizens) and F-3 (married children of U.S. citizens) family categories.

This means that Mexicans under these categories will be able to file their applications for adjustment of status in October if they have a priority date prior to the new date indicated in the updated version of the Visa Bulletin.

In the following chart, you can see the difference in priority filing dates and the delay it will cause:

The dates in this chart are according to the U.S. system, which uses first the month and then the day (7/1/1995 is July 1, 1995).
