Due to an oversubscription of family petition applications for persons from the Dominican Republic, the U.S. Department of State has limited and delayed the visa delivery date for this group.
According to the june 2010 visa bulletinThe deadline for registration under the second preference family category for Dominicans is as follows:
Category F2A - spouses and unmarried children under 21 of permanent residents - December 1, 2006 compared to January 1, 2008 for other countries, an additional delay of 14 months.
Category F2B - unmarried children 21 years of age or older of permanent residents - July 1, 2002 compared to November 15, 2002 for other countries, an additional delay of 4 months.
