There are fee exemptions for immigration procedures.

Most immigration procedures require the payment of fees to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) - whether for the renewal of a permanent resident card, obtaining a work permit, or registration for the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program, among others.

For many, the fees for these procedures are very high.

But what many do not know is that sometimes the USCIS allows fee waivers for immigration proceedings for people who can prove they have no money.

Read about the requirements you must meet and how to apply for a fee waiver in my column this week in La Opinión.
