New USCIS Director sworn in

After being sworn in, Leon Rodriguez became the fourth director of USCIS.

Leon Rodriguez was sworn in today, becoming the fourth director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Rodriguez was confirmed by the Senate as director of USCIS in June 2014, in a vote 52 to 44. Previously, he was director of the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services, a position he held for 3 years.

Previously, he was Chief of Staff for the Office of the Attorney General in the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
